About the Community Engagement for Violence Prevention Workgroup

Communities most impacted by violence are essential partners in an asset-based, solution-oriented approach to violence prevention. The Community Engagement for Violence Prevention Workgroup believes there are significant opportunities within multiple medical disciplines to detail a path forward in building meaningful, lasting partnerships with our communities.

The workgroup is focused on developing broad recommendations that all medical fields and medical personnel can utilize to guide efforts in becoming a part of the Community Violence Intervention (CVI) ecosystem. This approach allows for integration of violence prevention efforts that are often already occurring in our towns and cities through community-based organization efforts and municipal initiatives.
